PRISM Day 1

I have joined the ranks of those who are on the PRISM program. I am full of hope. Today, I have been sober (sugar addict) for one day. I look forward to all that God will open my eyes to. I will probably not post a journal EVERY day, but I thought I would for now-you know one day at a time! I got to go to a meeting and found my group tonight! So now I have the support of my mom (love you!), you all, and the ladies I just met! Thank you to everyone who posts here-love it!

Day 1: 1163 calories, 12 glasses of water

SueAnne,
I'm glad to hear that you are starting this program. It really is an excellent one. It's a lot easier to be faithful when there is so much accountability and journaling. You know, there are a lot of people addicted to sugar, and white flour products. I was one of them. Once you get past the first few days, it really does get easier.
I'm proud of ou for taking this step!

SueAnne, everyone I know who starts Prism with a heart to succeed says they are "filled with hope". It truly does give hope because it really makes sense. It is also filled with wisdom that I believe God gave to the founders. It is not a perfect program, nothing is perfect this side of Heaven, but it is very effective. I am so proud of you. I look forward to your posts. If it will help, I will post daily too.

Love and best wishes,
Jules

PS Please prepare yourself for the possibility of withdrawl symptoms...headaches, sleeplessness, etc. You will also start grieving the loss of your sugar soon. There will be days you will be angry or depressed. But the days filled with hope will be many.

Oh...I was going to give you some strategies for success. Get some these items:

Smuckers 100% fruit jelly
Splenda packets
Coffee Mate sugar free vanilla (I use 2T a cup)
Pistachio nuts
Brown rice instead of white(if this is hard, try the minute maid style, it is very mild tasting and has the same texture as the white.)
An apple a day
Dried Apricots from Costco(make sure there is no added sugar)

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Remember that one foot goes in front of the other, then retreats to be replaced by the opposite foot.

This means that when you have a long journey to take, and it gets complicated, reduce it to the simplest element.

Right foot - "I want sugar!"
Left foot - "I can't have it"
Right foot - "I will turn away from the sugar"
Left foot - "I am making healthy choices"

REPEAT AD INFINITUM

You're going to do wonderfully, I just know it. The withdrawal part is difficult. But it's okay - you have all of us cheering for you! How can you fail?

Good Luck!
