Just keep telling myself that right? I have had FOUR in eight days! I am sticking to the rest of my plan, but can't stay of my drug of choice. How does that bible verse go? "....like a dog returning to it's own vomit." Yep that is me right now. I am just stuck. Uuuugh!

Here I am on my megaphone saying to you; " Ma'am, step away from the mocha!" : )
Don't beat yourself up. Try and find something else choclately to pacify yourself. You know what I love for a treat lately? Jello has these sugar free chocolate pudding snacks. And they are really good. Only sixty calories a piece too.
Just be faithful today. Forget about last week, honey. And hey, I had a pretty big piece of pizza last night. We all slip sometimes. We are not here to condemn one another, so please do not condemn yourself.
Love you,
Kristina
My lingo is "Icecream is from the devil"... we all have something specific that we struggle with. Kristinas idea about the pudding is a great one. It tastes REALLY good over a big bowl of fresh cut strawberries and a dab of sugarfree coolwhip. You're doing so great, just keep it up!

Okay, try this strategy...Get an empty coffee mug or mocha cup and put your favorite charity on the cup. (World Vision, Breast cancer research, etc.) and everyday, put your "Mocha money" in the cup and at the end of your phase, write a check.
How bout that?
Just a thought.

I love how wonderfully these women come up with ideas. You are blessed!
You don't have ONE but THREE ideas to help you out!
Yeah Girls!
I've found that one of two strategies work for women with addictions (and YES, it is. in all seriousness.)
For some? a planned cheat, or break. - for example, "I can have one mocha a week, IF i stay on track for the week." then it's not only a time to cheat- when you want the mocha on Monday, you have Friday's to look forward to- it's also a goal!
For me- I have to stay away. I can't go near Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, or Dairy Queen. If I go near with a friend for example, I get... nothing, from DD or DQ. Maybe a diet coke. It just... I have to stay completely away from my addictions to be able to control them, for now.
Also? I eat 1/2 cup of light ice cream every night. It's completely worked into my plan, and some nights? It's my savior. Maybe try finding something acceptable that still feels a little like cheating (even something like a nonfat latte!) and use that instead?
SueAnne,
I think this may be the first time that I have been grossed out by His word. But I am betting that if you keep that verse running through your head, the next mocha will be a lot easier to pass up!
We all have our setbacks, but you are doing so well that I have no doubt you'll pick yourself up and be just fine.
I too love a good mocha, but I cheat a little on them. I take a cup of coffee about 2/3 full, sweeten it to taste (splenda) and then tip in a little bit of unsweetened cocoa. One Tbsp of cocoa has 20 calories and I use nowhere near that much. It's not quite the same as a full-fat mocha (there are few things in this world that good, but it'll do in a pinch!
You're doing so well, SueAnne. Even with the occasional mocha indiscretion, I have no doubt you'll be positively svelt in no time!

Oops, I forgot. Skim milk goes in the coffee cup too.
(I'm working on getting enough calcium, so I've started taking a lot more milk in my coffee.)
