Steppin' Out

Just a couple of pictures of me before stepping out for the night. We went out for karaoke. Last time I went to this bar I ended up dancing with old cowboys who gently chastised me for being unable to follow. This time I ended up dancing with old bikers (same story on the dancing. Why can I not follow?) It's an interesting bar!

Wow is right! There is NOTHING like photos of before and after to show off the accomplishments! You are so beautiful!! Look how thin your arms are :-)

By the way - you can't dance because you suffer from melanin deficiency.

Elicia, took me a second there! LOL
I can dance, I just have to lead, and the old cowboys and bikers don't like that so much. lol

Hey girls, Patty is a long time friend of mine and we used to exchange food journals via email. I told her she should come join us here. Whatdaya say, Patty?

Hi Jennifer,

I really need some encouragement, from here or SOMEWHERE. I lost a little bit, then hit a plateau, stopped walking, UGH.

The good news is that as Jennifer's 3-day walk was approaching, just reading about her motivated me to walk again! I do about 2 miles a day.

And I think I'm addicted to sugar. :-(

I need to go walk now!

Jen, you look absolutely FANTASTIC! Congratulations! (I get better about letting the guys lead if they actually know what they're doing. A lot of them don't.)

The old guys seem to know what they're doing (They're also brave enough to ask women they don't know to dance.) The young guys really don't. Maybe real dancing is becoming a lost art. :-P I think my problem is that I can't relax and let someone else be in control. I told one guy I should probably be in therapy for that. Slow dancing seems to be a metaphor for my life, once I can let someone else be in charge there maybe I'll be able to relax in life a little too, whether I'm surrendering to the Lord or just letting my husband pay the bills his way and not getting all twitchy about it. lol

Jen,

If you ever make it down this direction, let me know. I believe that we need to go out to some of the little dancehalls around here - you'd have a ball! The vast majority of people in most of them can dance like nobody's business.

Well now, that would be a blast! I most definitely will let you know if I ever find myself in your neck of the woods.

One thing I felt changed everything about me going from a girl to a woman was the ability to dance with a man, and be able to look in his eyes, enjoying his firm hand guiding me around the floor.

I felt I had grown up somehow.

Wow, dancing with a man...that would be something! Blake and I need to take lessons.

Jennifer, let me just say wowie!! You look 10 years younger now!!! Good for you.
