Quote of the week!

You gals are gonna love this one! Talk about fuel for the fire. Yesterday, my mother, bless her heart, asked me this;" Have you gained weight?... because your butt looks wider."
I've already worked out this morning, but it looks like tonight I'm going back. To run my ass off.

You know, half of me wants to not eat anything, or very little, because of her comment. And then the other half wants to gorge. All I know is that it made me angry, and hurt, and want to sweat like crazy at the gym.

Holy cow, Kristina, that's lousy.

Back when I was in college, I was dancing in a show and when my dad saw me on stage he later told me that it was really noticeable that I had put on weight. At the time, I had gained 3 pounds (after losing 35 the year before), wore a size 4, and was so mad at his comment that it still makes steam come out my ears. I can't figure out why people who love you sometimes make it so hard to love yourself. All I know is that it can be so frustrating and hurtful, but it ought to make you mad at their thoughtlessness rather than feel bad about yourself.

Just remember that we all adore you and that however big your mom says she thinks your tush looks, at least both you and Jules will never be able to both fit into your current pants!

I wonder sometimes if people say things to others in order to make themselves feel better?

I think it is easy sometimes to take pot shots at those who are thinner, smarter, prettier, etc., when they don't deserve it because we don't like ourselves very much.

I'm so sorry you had to hear that. I am pretty sure it was meant to boost one ego by crushing someone else's.

I have heard things like that so many times. Sucks. Don't let it get inside you.

You know, in the south we say "bless her heart" right before we say something really bad about someone. In this case, though, your mom brought this story on herself.
