Tina's journal 2/6

Hiya all,
Ok today is hubbies bday, and I still did great. Whew, this has been a struggle, but a great one. Here is today's menu...
Breakfast: cereal w/ milk
Lunch: tuna fish in lettuce wraps w/ an orange
Snack: banana, ONE rice cake w/ hummus
Dinner: bbq'd beef rib (one) w/ corn and salad and biscuit
Snack: rice cake w/ light egg salad
That's it. I did do a 30 minute Firm workout today too...my muscles are almost completely recouperated from last weeks martial arts....it all starts again on Weds! Tomorrow is my dr's appt. I will let you all know how it goes.

Thank you, Kristina!

I have been sick, really, really sick. Kristina came over today and helped me out, big time. She let me take a nap, cleaned up my kitchen, and then I went to the store (wandered around like a sweaty idiot) without all the kids...it was nice until my freeze dried brain allowed me to hit the back bumper of some kid's Hundai. I swear, I have been slowly blowing every one of my brain cells out of my nose all week!

Anyway, this is not about me and my over abundance of snot, it is about Kristina! I love you, babe. Like I said, it was nice just knowing that someone gave a "flying fling" that I was hurting and that you offered to help...I didn't have to ask, you just offered. Love that!

A big Hershey's Kiss (virtual of course) to you, babe! I am authorized to give a Hershey's Kiss because I am the mother of Reese! Bad joke, I know.

Love, Jules

I'm a happy, sassy mama!!

Do you see that smile upon my face? Well, I weighed and measured this morning and this week I have lost another 3 1/2 pounds. Bringing my total up to 16 1/2! And I also have lost another 1 1/2 inches around my body, bringing that total up to 23 inches. I'm feeling SOOO good. I'm feeling inspired all over again. The last few days I had been feeling so hungry, that my calories increased a little bit, and therefore, I thought perhaps I wouldn't lose very much at all. But my hard work is paying off, and it is so wonderful for me to already be seeing the results!

Sunday 2/5

Breakfast: cereal w/ milk
Snack: carrots, rice cake and hummus (I am thinking that hummus might be an issue for me...)
Lunch: 1/3 of a chicken pot pie, fruit plate, ice tea
Dinner: HUGE salad w/ couscous and fat free balsamic dressing
Snack: guess (yeah, hummus, big deal, I don't have a problem, I could stop eating it at anytime I want to, I just don't want to.)
And of course water water water.
Oh and the Seachickens lost....what a bummer and a total rip off! Anyone that followed knows what I mean. Well be proud Seattle, I don't know that they have ever made it THIS far before!

My First Full Month Behind Me!

Today is my 31st day on the Prism Weight Loss Program! I have been faithful and observant and I have reaped the benefits of healthier eating and more energy. I will not weigh myself for 18 more days, so I don't know the weight loss total yet, but I know that I am very, very close to meeting my first goal...To forever leave the 200's behind me! Yippee!

My second goal is this, to break the obesity barrier. That is right, ladies. I am going to forever rid my medical records of the word "obese" forever! The clinical definition of obese is to be 30% above your ideal body weight. According to Dr. Koop, my ideal body weight is 130-143 lbs. That means that I need to weigh in at 168-184 lbs. to be free of that label. (To get these numbers, I multiplied my ideal body weight by 1.29 and then rounded to the nearest pound.)

This is so attainable for me! I am jacked! I can feel it in my clothes and I can see it in my face...I am making progress. It is only a matter of time, ladies.

Here are my stats for the last two days:

Friday, Day 29: 1150 calories, 8 glasses of water.

Saturday, Day 30: 1130 calories, 8 glasses of water.

Discovery: If you eat soup, it is warm, filling, and so low in calories (the broth based ones) that you can have a big salad and a rice cake with a topping! It makes for a very filling meal. My new favorite soup is Healthy Choice's Chicken and Rice. Just 90 cal. per cup.

Welcome SueAnne!

I see we have a new member! Haven't heard a peep from her yet, but I wanted to throw out the welcome mat all the same! Welcome! (Please excuse the hairy legs...) We would love to hear from you. Our family, here, is growing and growing as we all are shrinking and shrinking!

New Ideal Body Weight Links!

I added two links to find out your "Ideal" body weight. I have been curious...Thought you might be, too. The first one is simple, takes body frame into account, and tells you how much you have to lose. Like it. The second one is very interesting, reviewing several different methods and giving you a "People's choice" weight...Which was higher for me than the medically recommended ones. Knowledge is Power, ladies!
Ok...I had trouble opening up bloggers for some reason, so that is why I did not post my journal but here goes:

Friday:
Breakfast - cereal w/ milk and banana
Lunch - split pea soup w/ veggies, rice cakes w/ hummus
Snack - rice cake w/ hummus
Dinner - tacos w/ salad salsa avocado soy cheese
Snack - popcorn

Saturday:
Breakfast - cereal w/ milk
Lunch - tostadas w/ salad
Snack - rice cake w/hummus
Dinner - went to Claim Jumpers and I did SO GOOD! I had broiled salmon w/ 1/3 of the order of red mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus!
Snack - 10 yogurt covered almonds and 1 tiny piece of dove dark chocolate, carrots and hummus

I am really proud of my choices at Claim Jumpers...it would have been so easy and natural to get a burger and fries...Keep up the great work ladies!

Do you ever feel like this is YOUR butt?

Most days I feel so good about myself. But then there are others where all I can see is how far that I have to go. This last couple of days has been tough, I'm feeling so hungry, and I'm craving all of the wrong foods. I haven't given in, (by the grace of God). But man, those Costco chocolate chip cookies are begging for my attetion. What was I thinking when I purchased them?! Perhaps I have this underlying drive for self torture! I'll be bringing them to the Super bowl party tomorrow. I'm sort of dreading going, because I know there will be gobs of junk food... I'll just have to bring a big veggie platter I suppose. Well, here's some numbers for the last three days:

Day 24: 1,351 calories, 10 glasses of water, workout

Day 25: 1,264 calories, 11 glasses of water

Day 26: 1,349 calories, 8 glasses of water

I weighed in after my first week at Weight Watchers. TWO pounds! It really doesn't seem like a lot after all that work, but it is a beginning. For awhile there I thought the calorie fairy was sneaking in at night and injecting me with calories. What - you've never heard of the calorie fairy? Surely at some point in your life you gained weight and you know had nothing to do with it. I know it's happened to me a number of times. I have actually been following the Weight Watcher Flex program very carefully. I have even been drinking all of my water. The Weight Watcher class I go to in Marysville is a lot of fun. About a fourth of the members are lifetime - very impressive. They have even put together a cookbook that you can download. I missed working out for a couple of days but got back on track today. I went to the Y and walked 2 miles on the treadmill and then did a cybex machine workout for half an hour. Like all of you, I just take it one day at a time and try to keep a positive attitude.

Well this week has been interesting. I worked out Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. That spinning class on Monday was a killer, but I really feel great after it's over (ha ha). I also bumped up my weights in the body build classes on Tues and Thurs. Yikes!!! I really felt it today at class. My weigh in at Weight Watchers was disappointing....I stayed axactly the same!

But I had a big loss last week and that is to be expected. I just need to stay dedicated. You girls keep me going!!! Thanks

Oh my aching body!

Did my 1 hour martial arts today...whew! You know what happens to thighs (and butt muscles) that are sore already and forced to do a bunch of lunges? They cramp. Yup, turn to hard little rocks and make you quiver in pain. Well, it wasn't that bad, but it could have been! Oh, and I did push ups too. Not to mention the kicking, punching and take down move I learned (and was the recipient of as well.) I am telling you ladies, if you want a workout that will work all your parts in all new ways, this is the ticket! I am feeling so good (more on the inside, my body aches right now)!
Now for my food journal for today:
Boring I know...but here it is anyway:Breakfast: berry smoothie and soy cheese/salsa omelet
Lunch: Salad w/lots of veggies, rice cakes w/ hummus and grapes
Snack: cottage cheese and pineapple
Dinner: whole wheat chili mac and corn YUM!
Snack: popcorn, orange juice, rice cake w/ hummus, fruit

A little humor for the ladies...

KEEEE YAH!

Ok ladies, be afraid, very afraid....I started my first class in martial arts today! WHOOO it was a lot of fun and a LOT of work! I did this exact move in this picture too! My son has taken martial arts for 5 years at the homeschool center, and today was my first time to try it. We work out for an hour...and I love that! So, I am signed up for the rest of the semester, I will go 2x per week for 1 hour each class. I like the mix up in my work out routine. And my body is already feeling it, my thighs are sore tonight. I had to share with you all about my new exercise adventure!

I haven't fessed up all week!

I just realized that I haven't fessed up all week on how I am doing. Well...Emotionally, I guess I have, but not the cold hard caloric numbers!

Friday: I took a vitamin! Whoo Hoo. Calories 1110, 8 glasses of water.

Saturday: Calories 1158, 9 glasses of water.

Sunday: Calories 1274, 8 glasses of water.

Monday: Calories 1388, 9 glasses of water. Exercised.

Tuesday: Calories 1428 (ut-oh), 8 glasses of water.

Wednesday: Calories 1294, 8 glasses of water. CLEANED MY BEDROOM!

Good job Jodie!

I looked and saw that you've gone from 1/10 of a stick of butter, to eight sticks. You must have updated that last night. Anyhow, I wanted to say, great job and keep up the good work! : )

I kind of like her hat...What's wrong with the hat?

Today's stats:
Breakfast: apple and cereal w/ milk
Lunch: vegetable soup and tabouli
Snack: cottage cheese and pineapple
Dinner: chicken, couscous and broccoli
Snack: english muffin w/jelly orange juice

I did the Firm workout today and one hour in martial arts. Oh, and I succumbed to the scale, there was an eye opener, I am up 15 pounds from my low weight. What a bummer...well, now I know and there you have it. I want to lose that 15 plus 5 more. I will let you know what happens. Thanks for being so supportive all!

I'm eating good, and feeling good!

I wish I was as skinny as the cartoon character... :) I would skip the hat, however. I've been doing well, eating right, working out. I'm going to weigh and measure again next Monday. So I have five more days to work my butt off, and hopefully see a number change in either the scale or the tape measure. (Both would certainly be nice!) One thing is for certain, I have a lot more energy since I've started eating better and excercising. And for that, I am thankful.
Here's my numbers for the last few days:

Day 21: 1,144 calories, 9 glasses of water, workout
Day 22: 1,409 calories, 11 glasses of water, workout
Day 23: 1,121 calories, 9 glasses of water, workout
