My shoes are laced up,
And my mind is made up.
I am going to run.
Nothing will stop me,
No one will hold me back.
I will not listen to the voices that say;
"That is too hard". Or, "That is too far".
I am going to run until I can go no further.
I am determined, I am capable, I am strong.
I don't push the limits, I break them!
I am free from my obesity,
And I am free from my shame.
I am determined, I am capable, and I am strong.
I am a runner.
YOU GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS!
ReplyDeleteYou are truly awesome and your passion is felt clearly in your poem. Well done!
Is this a POEM CHALLENGE???
Thank you Elicia. : )
ReplyDeleteA poem challenge, huh? I'm afraid that you will crush me like a bug. For YOU, my friend, are the word master.
But what the heck, I'm game. : )

No, I mean some OTHERS do a poem too! I know you're awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteHey! Me too! :)
ReplyDelete(And don't you just LOVE that feeling?! As my coach pointed out, no one has ever regretted a run once it was over)
Um, does your coach know people? Like, real humans?
ReplyDeleteShe just qualified for the Boston Marathon so she herself is not human, but I most definitely am human and I think she's probably right. :)
ReplyDeleteWow - what an awesome mentor to have!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you two enjoy running!!
Bravo, girly. Sorry I was the last to read this. Hopelessly busy woman that I am, I still keep this blog as a priority. And you, of course. Sweet (and sweaty) friend.
